Meet the Chiropractors

You've probably heard the saying, "Two heads are better than one." We've taken that a step further at Chiropractic Life. With three chiropractors on staff, you get the benefit of extra brainpower. Especially with difficult cases.

Introducing Hove and Brighton Chiropractor Dr. Richard McMinn

My Chiropractic story begins in 1957. At that time my Uncle, who later became my mentor, had become a Chiropractor, and our family were beginning to understand the value of the Chiropractic Lifestyle. I was eight years of age at that time and I clearly remember having my first Chiropractic adjustment. It was at that point my career path was chosen and from that time I never wavered from wanting to be a Chiropractor. I never understood much, I only knew the feeling of being "set free"and feeling "wow - and wanting to help others to feel that way" and it was that feeling that carried me right through school, university and Chiropractic College. The idea of a drugless healing art that could prevent sickness and disease appealed to my young mind.

At the time I decided to pursue my education to be a Chiropractor, mature students were not allowed back to school to study. I successfully petitioned the New Zealand Government to change this law and entered Glendowie College to complete my University Entrance Exams. In appreciation I donated "The McMinn Cup" which is still awarded to deserving students to this day. After graduating I was accepted into Cleveland College in Kansas City Missouri and soon after transferred to Palmer College of Chiropractic Davenport Iowa USA - known as The Chiropractic Fountainhead.

Chiropractic Life is essentially a wellness based Chiropractic clinic which means that we are not only interested in getting people well, but we are also interested in educating and supporting people in their endeavours to maintain their health, vitality and wellness. My own five children were all born at home and have had chiropractic care since the day they were born. None of the children have ever been to a medical doctor and it is my vision to empower the people of Hove and Brighton to take control of their own health by choosing natural alternatives.
Children make excellent patients. They respond readily to care as they bring no prejudice or skepticism to their appointments. They bring only trust and in turn it is such a delight to see them reaching their fullest potential.

Introducing Hove and Brighton Chiropractor Dr. Sarah Woodland

We at Chiropractic Life are delighted to welcome Dr, Sarah Woodland to the team, which will provide more professional power for those patients consulting the clinic. The old adage "two heads are better than one" applies more than ever where there are several professionals practicing side by side.  Dr. Woodland graduated from the Welsh Institute of Chiropractic in South Wales and has since practised in Eastbourne before joining the Team at Chiropractic Life.

Chiropractor Sarah Woodland

Dr. Sarah Woodland was born in West Sussex and due to her passion for dance she developed a keen interest in the human body.  Due to an injury which meant she was unable to complete her Dance Diploma, Sarah began to seek solutions to this dilemma.  Dr. Sarah investigated many forms of remedial therapy and during her search she met  Richard McMinn at Mid Sussex Chiropractic clinic in 2002 and attended one of his Spinal Health Care Classes. It was during this period of time that Sarah realised Chiropractic was the answer to deciding her future career when she understood that the body has such an amazing ability to heal itself, when given the right kind of care.

Dr. Sarah has recently won a Scientific Research Award for the work that she has performed on the effects of back pain in office workers.  This research will be published in the medical journal "Applied Ergonomics" and Dr. Sarah aims to do further research in the future.  Professional development and keeping up with the latest developments in the field of Chiropractic is important to Sarah, which means she frequently attends seminars and conferences which is an important part of practice at Chiropractic Life.

Dr. Sarah maintains her love of dance and sporting activities, enjoying swimming, gym, yoga and Pilate's while socialising and meeting new people.

Dr. Sarah looks forward to meeting you in the clinic and helping you to a life of health and vitality through Chiropractic.

Introducing Hove and Brighton Chiropractor  Helen Martin

We are delighted to welcome Helen Martin to the team at Chiropractic Life and she is looking forward to working with you, to help you achieve the health you were born to have. Initially Helen Martin met Richard McMinn (founder and principal Chiropractor at Chiropractic Life) and was inspired by his enthusiasm for Chiropractic and the unique story of his five children who have never been to a doctor, and the strong wellness philosophy which is promoted at Chiropractic Life.

Chiropractor Helen Martin

Helen Martin obtained her degree in Chiropractic from the McTimoney College of Chiropractic in Oxford, which is affiliated with the University of Glamorgan, Wales.

Helen has continued to learn and perfect other chiropractic techniques during her association with many different chiropractors, and regularly attends seminars and conferences to keep abreast of new developments in the field of Chiropractic.

Initially Helen studied business and languages, but became interested in the Chiropractic profession several years ago, following a skiing accident. During the recovery process her interest in the human body and it's ability to heal itself so wonderfully, occupied her thoughts – seeds of a new career were being sown. Helen began to see that Chiropractic was not just about relieving pain and discomfort but about keeping the spine free of interference so that the body is able to do it's own marvelous work of self healing, thereby producing vitality and a state of wellbeing.

During the time she spent in Austria, Helen spent a lot of time observing work/play challenges and the demands these make on the human body. Most rewarding has been her work with babies with colic and children with learning difficulties and it has been her privilege to witness many amazing improvements in their concentration, motor skills and speech.

Culture, art, creative pursuits, traveling, animals and the outdoors are also high on her list for relaxation.

Helen looks forward to meeting you in the clinic and helping you to a life of health and vitality through Chiropractic.
